A Year in Pictures

Week Six – A Year in Pictures
Does it rain in June?
Yes, unfortunately, it does, and often!
After months of planning, there is nothing you can do about the British weather when the heavens open and the rain pours down. It always comes as a bit of a shock to everyone. But, as photographers we still create images of the day for you, capturing the memories, the tears, and the laughter. Many years later you will look back on your wedding photographs and share so many memories of the day with your children, family, and friends. The memories are what makes a wedding day so unique.
This particular image always makes me smile when I look at it. I ran across the grass to capture the couple’s journey from the ceremony to the drinks reception, the torrential rain and wind were just awful but what makes this image come together is the best man. At first glance, you only see a couple of people in this picture, but actually, there are four. The groom, gallantly holding tight to the umbrella keeping the rain and wind off the bride’s face, the bridesmaid keeping the wedding dress off the floor as they take cover under one umbrella! Then there is the best man, who is walking casually alongside the bride with one hand in his pocket and one hand on his umbrella. Priceless!
